Last Day of School!

In January we moved Alek from an in home daycare where he was since he was 9 months old to a daycare/preschool facility. He just finished the “school year” and he made some great new friends and learned so much it amazed us. We are so happy with the facility, especially the fact that it is a Christian run program which is such a great bonus and makes me even happier knowing what he is learning. They also were a huge part of his potty training process which I’m even more grateful for. We love hearing about his day and if I don’t ask quick enough or forget he will say, “Mommy tell me about my day” which means he wants me to ask him questions and he get’s very excited to share his answers. I love seeing him turn into an individual and am so proud of how he transitioned and how joyful he is while he is there.

On the same day, Evan also finished his school year and that was a glorious day for many reasons. It was not only the last day of school but the last day at his current job. He has worked under the same principal and in elementary for the last 7 years. The last couple years have been rough but this year was almost unbearable (nothing to do with the kids). Next year he will be at Clark Intermediate teaching 8th grade AB which consists of 3 subjects, one being History which he absolutely loves. He is over the moon with excitement and has been completely embraced and supported by the staff he will be working with. He has already attended staff meetings and has shadowed some of the teachers and feels totally confident this will be a good move and more importantly where God is calling him to be right now.

Well, no end of the year for me but seeing my boys happy as we enter a new chapter gives me joy and grateful for my blessings. We are doing some fun things this summer so at least I have some vacation to look forward too. I will share those adventures soon.

His class was called Busy Bee's and they made shirts with each child's thumbprint made into a bee and on top it said, "We will always bee friends". Too cute!

Ashley & Alek (we heard a lot about her this year) :-)

Alek and Hunter. One of his best buds.
