Weekend Away

Evan and I went away for Memorial Weekend...just the two of us. We went to Santa Barbara to see Flight of the Conchords in concert. It is a show on HBO that we absolutely love. Evan's cousin Jon and his wife Jamie are also major fans so they met us there and we went together Friday night. It was such a blast and the concert did not disappoint. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Jon and Jamie had to leave town the next morning but Evan and I had the rest of the weekend to ourselves. On a side note, to catch some of you up. We are moving next week and so a weekend away was much needed.  We are moving just 5 minutes away but have decided to simplify some areas of our lives. Evan is starting a Masters program in the Fall so we have decided to rent a house. It is a 3 year program and so we want to be open to where God might lead us after he is finished. So back to the weekend. To leave the messy house, stress and everything behind was so nice. Of course we missed our little boy but to have time alone to go at our own pace was a nice treat. We had some great walks, bike rides and time just talking and enjoying each other. Even though family is the season we are in and a season we are loving so much, it is so important to remember the marriage. We left refreshed and closer to each other...ready to start a new chapter in our lives.
